Director of Finance
The Director of Finance Office for the City of Morehead is located at the corner of Carey Avenue and First Street.
It is the responsibility of the Director of Finance to collect, account for and enforce payment of the Occupational/Net Profit License Tax imposed by the City of Morehead.
The Occupational License Tax is composed of an individual payroll tax and a net profits business tax. Every individual engaged in any occupation in the City of Morehead shall pay an annual occupational tax of 1.5 percent. Every business shall pay an annual business license tax which is 1.5 percent of the net profits from the business activity.
Special, minimum fees are imposed on transient peddlers & merchants, circuses, carnivals, cigarette & soft drink sales, bowling lanes, junk dealers and other specialty businesses.
