Welcome to the City of Morehead

Welcome to the City of Morehead, Kentucky website where you can learn about Morehead's government and the services it provides. If you have questions and/or need to find out how to obtain a particular service, we hope that you will click on the category that best suits your needs and start surfing! The City Departments may be where you should begin.

Our Calendar of Events will keep you abreast of public meetings in our city. On the other hand, if you prefer to read about meetings after the fact, then you may prefer to click on Meeting Minutes.

Our Mayor and City Council Members each have his/her own page whereby you may become better acquainted with your Elected Officials. You may also click on Department Contacts to communicate with city departments.

We welcome your input and would like to have your comments and recommendations about our website. That way we can learn how to most efficiently and effectively make this work to the benefit of its users.

Message from the Mayor

As the Mayor of Morehead it is my pleasure to welcome you to the City of Morehead Website.
Though small in size, our city is a giant in its offerings to our citizens and to those just passing through. We serve a region of at least seven counties and are the employment, economic, business, educational, medical, cultural and recreational hub for this region. Morehead State University, with over 9,300 students, also serves our region very well.
The newly constructed Morehead Conference Center in our downtown area is a part of a big boost to revitalize our downtown with the formation of Morehead Tomorrow, a group dedicated to this purpose.
One of Morehead's biggest assets is its citizenry. We have many educated, dedicated, concerned, talented willing citizens in this community. They are the ones who make up the numerous boards and commissions which serve as the lifeblood of any successful community. It has been said that the success of a community can be directly gauged by the quality and quantity of its volunteers. That being said, Morehead is alive and well.
