As the Mayor of Morehead it is my pleasure to welcome you to the City of Morehead Website.
While we are not a large city by population we have much more to offer that our size might indicate. We serve a region of at least seven counties and are the employment, economic, business, educational, medical, cultural and recreational hub for this region. Morehead State University, with over 9,300 students, serves our region very well, as does the Rowan Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College. Saint Claire Regional Medical Center serves a large area with medical expertise.
The Morehead Conference Center in our downtown area is a part of our efforts to revitalize the core of the city. Morehead Tomorrow, is a group dedicated to this purpose.
One of Morehead's biggest assets is its citizenry. We have many dedicated, concerned, talented willing citizens in this community. They are the ones who make up the numerous boards and commissions which serve as the lifeblood of any successful community. It has been said that the success of a community can be directly gauged by the quality and quantity of its volunteers. That being said, Morehead is alive and well.
